    Benefits of using PET Polyester Strapping

 

  1. Better applied tension – In comparison to steel strap, PET Polyester strapping slips around the edges better, with less friction
  2. PET Polyester strapping does not ‘kink’ on the edges and as a result is kinder to the strapped product with little edge damage to the pack, reducing the need to use edge protection, thereby reducing cost and increasing the ability of the pack to take a tighter strap tension
  3. Better retained tension with PET Polyester. As the strap is stretched when applied by the tool or strapping head, the elongation creates a holding force to hold the pack (a bit like an elastic band). This retains pack integrity if the load shrinks in transit and will ultimately reduce transport damage and improving the appearance of the pack.
  4. High shock reserve – A major benefit over steel strapping. The elasticity in the PET Polyester strap will allow the strap to take a shock loading. Such shock loadings usually snap steel strap or would stretch standard polypropylene strap, making the load unstable.
  5. Productivity is improved with PET Polyester strap as the coils carry considerably more metres of strap than steel coils, so coil changes are less frequent.
  6. Health & Safety – A coil of PET Polyester strap weighs considerably less than an equivalent coil of steel strap. Also the PET Polyester strap has no sharp edges, unlike steel strap, so it is easier to handle and safer.
  7. Contamination with PET Polyester strap is not an issue. Steel strap will rust and can leave staining on packaging and products.
  8. Less aggressive to tooling – Plastic strap is easier to tension and will prolong the life of the tools compared to steel strap.
  9. PET Polyester strap is UV stable

 PET Polyester strap is cheaper than steel strap and is fully recyclable. So not only do you get all of the benefits above, it will also save you money.
